Decided to camp here for a few days. Stayed at the Taylors Creek section, which is the newest section in the state park, with full hook-up on all sites. This new section was build in 2020.<\/p>\n

This section is very open, with no shade, unless you park your chair under the awning. Good for Starlink though. Lake fishing available 50 yards away. All sites pretty much filled up being Memorial Day weekend.<\/p>\n

Very nice place to stay. A little too open for our taste though. Will probably stay at the lakeside section next time.<\/p>\n

Fun fact:<\/strong> Lake Wateree is a 13,000+ acre man-made reservoir located approximately 30 miles northeast of Columbia, South Carolina, and roughly an hour south of Charlotte, North Carolina. Created in 1920 by the damming of the Wateree River, it is one of South Carolina’s oldest and largest lakes, spanning across Fairfield, Kershaw, and Lancaster counties.
